Skye Canyon is one of the fastest-growing corners of Las Vegas, and most of the homes there are new enough that the backyard is still dirt. That is our favorite kind of project: a clean slate, a family who knows how they want to live outside, and an HOA guideline sheet to design to. We build complete yards across Skye Canyon and the rest of the northwest valley.
What we build in Skye Canyon
- Complete new-build backyards: grading, drainage, irrigation, pavers, turf, planting and lighting in one project
- Covered patios, pergolas and outdoor kitchens sized for the lots in Boulder Hills, Ridgeline, Sundance and Stonehaven
- Artificial turf for kids and dogs, with paver borders that hold up
- Front-yard refreshes when the builder's package is not what you would have chosen
- Fire pits and fire tables for the cool northwest evenings
- Low-water planting that handles the wind and the winter

Designing for the northwest valley
Skye Canyon sits at the base of the road to Mount Charleston, a few hundred feet higher than central Las Vegas. The difference is real: cooler nights, more wind, and frost most winters. We plan for it. Patio covers and pergolas are anchored for the wind. Plant lists lean on cold-hardy desert natives. Drip systems get a smart controller that follows the seasons. And the big open views to the west get worked into the layout instead of blocked.
Lots in Skye Canyon are efficient, which rewards a tight plan: the grill, the table and the fire feature placed so a modest yard feels like a full outdoor room. The Skye Center, the parks and the trail network mean families here use their yards for the everyday, which is what we design for.

Working with Skye Canyon HOAs
Every Skye Canyon village has an association with design review. Front yards are reviewed; backyard structures usually are. We know the submittal format, we prepare the site plan and material list, and we schedule construction after the approval letter arrives. For a new home that still has builder landscaping, we also check what the original approved plan was, since some associations want changes measured against it.
Rebates
Skye Canyon is Las Vegas Valley Water District territory, so if a builder installed a lawn you want to remove, the conversion earns the SNWA rebate plus the district bonus, $7 per square foot combined for the first 10,000 square feet as of October 2026. The rules are on our water rebates page.
Why Skye Canyon homeowners choose NV Landscapes
We are a licensed, insured, family-owned Las Vegas landscape contractor with more than 20 years in the valley. New-build backyards are what we do most, and one crew takes the project from dirt to lighting. Financing is available, which many new-build owners use to finish the whole yard at once instead of in pieces.
