Boulder City is its own place: the town that built Hoover Dam, a historic district of 1930s homes under mature trees, a controlled-growth ordinance that keeps it small, and Lake Mead down the hill. The yards are older and greener than the rest of the valley, which means the most common calls we get here are about water: converting a lawn, fixing an irrigation system, or adding shade and a patio to a yard that already has the trees.
What we build in Boulder City
- Lawn-to-desert conversions that keep the mature trees and earn the SNWA rebate
- Drip irrigation retrofits for original sprinkler systems
- Paver driveways, walkways and patios
- Covered patios, pergolas and fire pits for the evening breeze off the lake
- Front-yard refreshes for older homes: new edging, rock, planting and lighting without losing the character of the street
- Artificial turf where a green patch for the kids or the dog still makes sense
- Paver sealing and pressure washing

Boulder City yards are different
Most of the valley is new construction on bare lots. Boulder City is the opposite. Historic-district homes have 60- and 80-year-old trees, original lawns and irrigation that has been patched for decades. The newer neighborhoods toward Lake Mead have bigger lots and more wind. The city runs its own water utility and its own planning department, and it takes its character seriously.
So we design to the house and the trees that are already there. A conversion in Boulder City usually means keeping the shade trees, putting them on their own drip zone, replacing the lawn under them with rock mulch and understory planting, and adding a paver walk and a seating area. The result reads as an established yard, not a new one.

Rebates in Boulder City
Boulder City is a member agency of the Southern Nevada Water Authority, so the Water Smart Landscapes rebate applies: $5 per square foot for the first 10,000 square feet of grass removed, $2.50 after that, and $100 per qualifying tree, as of October 2026. The city is not part of the Las Vegas Valley Water District, so there is no district bonus. The rules are the same everywhere: apply and get the site visit before any grass comes out, drip irrigation only, and 50 percent plant coverage at maturity. Our water rebates page has the details.
